The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

The College of Science at the University of Babylon has successfully overcome extreme weather conditions, such as high temperatures, to continue its work during the afternoon, evening, and early morning hours. This was done to ensure that the planned projects are not interrupted during the summer break. Dr. Mohammed Hadi Shanan, the dean of the college and the field supervisor, stated that the college has implemented a rotating work schedule during these times, with direct supervision from the dean himself, in order to complete the assigned tasks and projects that will bring about a qualitative leap in the college's infrastructure.
